Day in and day out, mechanics routinely tighten a variety of components to specific torque values. Despite their vast experience and attention to detail, even the best and most efficient mechanic can occasionally over-tighten or under-tighten a component, leading to vehicle damage or even catastrophic failure. This Digital Torque Wrench eliminates the possibility of human error with a series of features that immediately alert the user to torque readings that are 'over or under' entered values. Brown Line Metalworks engineered the Digital Torque Wrench for the seasoned professional. Brown Line Metalworks invented and patented (Patent number US 7,367,250) breakthrough technology that allows the Digital Torque wrench to deliver high-end performance and quality. Digital Torque wrench has a Double Gear Sensing System Technology (D.G.S.S.) and 8-bit microprocessor enable it to consistently produce precise torque readings of +/- 3.5 percentage clockwise and counter clockwise. With a 1/2 inch…
The torque wrench is difficult to use going from one fastener to another one. It is too close to wheels, and it is too long getting in the way. However the length helps with leverage.

I did a lot of searching for a good Digital Torque Wrench. After searching every brand I decided on the CDI one. Basically CDI makes Snap-On Torque Wrenches and re-badges them. That in itself should give you an idea of the quality of this wrench.I've used this many times and torquing many things.A few of the positive things:Easy to useDigital and easy to read.Easy to switch between NM and lbs.Very low torque range and pretty high range - (5.0-100.0 Ft/Lb / 120-1200 In/Lb / 13.6-135.6 Nm)Angle head (surprisingly very useful)Soft grip handleSolid constructionNegatives:Non-lit display (would be nice to be back lit)Battery removal (not easy due to screw, however it is also very secure)CR123 Batteries (pro or con, but more expensive and harder to find)Although there are con's, some of them could be considered positive. For example the screw to hold in the battery will never come loose.CR123 last much longer than other batteries.Overall for the price this is one of the best Torque Wrenches you can buy.It also comes in a nice solid case.

Okay so like most people I would assume that the picture used to sell the item is the item. Well when I received this I was a little shocked to see that it is way smaller than the picture would have you believe. The torque wrench is only 9 1/2 inches long. It does appear to be of excellent quality and is calibrated. So I guess there is no foul here, but just wanted to let everyone know the picture is not to scale.

This is by far the best torque wrench for the money out there. It's comfortable, long and very accurate. My Cornwell dealer was selling these for nearly $250 (which is still worth the money), but I was ecstatic to see the price here. After using many torque wrenches in the auto industry, I realized right away that this was the one. A coworker had one and I found myself asking to borrow it more than I use my own. Once you see it in person, you can tell it's a quality piece. Don't let the low price fool you, this wrench is top-notch!

I have a 1/2 Snap-on torque wrench which I used to compare against this wrench.I notice the design is essentially the same for both wrenches, but this torque wrench had the opposite direction selector. With the selector turned to the right you will tighten, while left is loosen. I guess they try to match that with the saying "lefty loosy, righty tighty?" The clicks are not as apparent compared to the Snap-on but it does click.I like that it came with its own calibration sheet which is nice to see. A piece of paper telling you your specs is better than a company telling you through advertising.Overall, I'm really impress with the quality for the price. I'm about to buy their 1/4 drive torque wrench to complete my set.

The Electronic Torque Wrench provides ±2% accuracy clockwise and ±3% accuracy counterclockwise, better than the ±4% accuracy of mechanical torque wrenches. U.S.A. Drive (in.): 1/2, Pieces (qty.): 1
This is identical to the 1/2" Torque wrench by Sears, it is probalbly made by GearWrench for Sears to market. The rating on the original is quite a bit larger than the model offered by Sears. This was also lower priced than the Sears Model. I use it on the Newton Meter Scale almost everyday. You cannot go wrong buying this product!

This is very easy to use, and it shows you exactly what torque you hit because there is an indicator that stops and stays exactly where you stopped torquing. This torque wrench is very accurate, and its one of the best quality tools I have purchased. The quality of this tool is FANTASTIC. I would give this tool 6 stars if I could. This tool fits very well in its case and is foam fitted in its case.Everything about the tool is precise. Its just a great feeling. If you need one of these for a job, definately get one. I was very pleasantly surprised.Everything looks so professional.I am VERY happy with this purchase.

1/4" Drive Micro-Adjustable Torque Wrench - Ratchet Head 20-150 In/LbThe metal handle series offers the user a rugged, industrial strength torque wrench able to withstand the rigors of professional use. Handles are lightly knurled for a tough, non-slip grip. It`s always a good idea to choose a torque wrench in which the desired torque setting falls within the middle range of thw wrench. Micrometer "clicker" torque wrenches feature a distinct breaking action when the set torque is reached. The breaking action and clicking noise is greatest at the upper part of the scale. A nice micrometer style torque wrench that's price competitive with models of similar quality. Very good accuracy and a very distinct indication when the set torque is reached. My only gripe is the looseness of the ratcheting directional selector, much looser than similar ¼ ratchets. Its so loose that it is difficult to keep in locked without constantly holding onto it, a difficult proposition while working in a confined space.

I am completely happy with this product. Here is why:The micrometer adjustment is in 10's around the dial so there is no adding or guessing what your setting is. I have used others in 15 lb graduations and this tool removes the fuss.Simply pull back on the spring loaded sleeve and rotate the main body to make adjustments. Let go and it locks right in. Others I have used have a locking dial on the handle end which can become loose and you lose your setting. The handle is just the right length for a 250 ft/lb torque wrench. Others I have seen are unnecessarily long, and can be hard to manage. CDI has excellent customer support. I contacted them prior to ordering and a tech spent plenty of time explaining the specifics of their wrenches.I called the tech for an explanation on accuracy ratings. This wrench is accurate with +/- 4% from 20% to 100% of full scale -- my certificate of calibration states values much lower than this (from .5 - 2.5%). 20% to 100% is industry standard though some torque wrench's will be accurate to +/- 3%. In this case 20% of 250 ft/lb is 50 ft/lb. So this tool will be increasingly less accurate the farther below 50 ft/lb you go. This is due to lack of compression on the spring in the lower range. Really this wrench should be labeled as a 50 - 250 ft/lb wrench, corresponding to the included certificate of calibration (meaning: my cert. of calibration labels this wrench as 50 - 250 ft/lb).Just know that with ANY spring type click wrench the low capability…

This is a good torque wrench. The electronics operations on it aren't all that intuitive, but all in all it's OK. This tool is only for tightening big nuts and bolts -- it's for applying a lot of torque, not a little. I bought it for doing an automotive job (changing the lower intake manifold gasket on a '98 Chevy Malibu with 3.1-L V6), and the lower-torque end of this tool was inadequate for many of the bolts I needed to torque during re-assembly. I had to run out to Harbor Freight and get a less heavy duty torque wrench at the last minute. Read the specs for the tool, and make sure it fits your needs. For example, this was just fine for tightening the 18-mm engine mount bolts, but it was way over-powered for the 10-mm intake manifold bolts. The only other flaw I found with this was that it was relatively easy to get it into a mode where you were waiting for it to indicate that you had tightened enough -- you were applying what you thought might even be too much torque -- and you WERE (!) -- the tool wasn't reading the applied torque; it was reading the torque applied during the last use, and not responding at all to what you were currently doing. If you weren't watching carefully enough, you might snap a bolt off. Also, this tool doesn't come with a case of any kind, so storing it and its instruction pamphlet are a bit of a challenge.
