This is the 4th gyro fan that I have ordered and I am thrilled with all of them. They are quite unique; delivery is quick and the product comes very well packaged. I have other metal colors in the other gyro fan but this restoration bronze is a color that will fit with virtually any color scheme. I ordered it for my kitchen remodel and it is mounted on a vaulted ceiling and is quite eye catching.

I mounted this fan on a beam that extends across the corner of my deck. The fan and lights are completely exposed to the elements, and everything works fine after 18 months.

I'm very pleased with this fan.This fan matches the Mission (Arts & Crafts) style of my home. It's well made and reasonably easy to install. The two wire (plus ground) electric connection means you don't need to rewire a ceiling light (otherwise to control the fan and both lighting sections would require a hard-to-install new multiconductor wire).It does require a ceiling fan electric box with extra weight capability(~50 lbs), but these are relatively easy to install into a wooden stud ceiling from below (through the octagonal ceiling light box cutout; once you've removed the old lighting ceiling box). Be sure to turn off the breaker for the circuit or get an electrician.It has a "bracket" that mounts to the ceiling box, and a "ball" on the hanger pipe that allows you to use both hands on the fan to lift the fan in place on the ceiling; much easier than trying to hold the fan in one hand and put a pin in with the other (I don't think I could lift this hefty fan with one hand safely).The package contained everything I needed, except the fan ceiling box and two 60W candelabra bulbs (use bulbs rated for vibration use). There are two "hanger rods" (short decorative pieces of pipe); one that is "minimum length" (~3.5 inches) and one that is "short" (~6 inches). If you have a sloped (cathedral) ceiling, you'll need a longer pipe. Most big box home improvement stores have the pipes and fan electric boxes. The metal color is described…

Even though this is an outdoor fan, it looks great indoors. I installed it by myself and it was fairly simple. It does rotate slowly though but since you have the dual fans rotating at variable speeds, it does not reduce airflow and you cannot beat this price.

We bought this fan a year ago for my 12 year old son's room. Not only does it LOOK cool, it IS cool! Keeps my hot box of a son cool all summer long in our wonderful triple digit high temps! It is quiet, maybe not the most quiet I've heard (or not heard?!) but definitely better than acceptable. The red finish is really nice and gives an otherwise boring room some personality! My son is one belt away from his black belt in Karate and the blades of the fan look like him when he does a round house kick! It goes perfect in his karate themed room!

This is a very unique looking fan and is definitely a conversation starter. Very modern and contemporary look. It runs whisper quiet and does a decent job moving air. The only drawback is the lighting is super bright but focused downward so it does a poor job of lighting the rest of the room. This is a great fan if you're looking for style, but since there's an option to skip the light to save a few bucks I'd go with that option if lighting is not an issue. One of the reviewers complaints about noise leads me to believe he definitely has a defective unit. The fit and finish is great and there is no noise at all when it's in motion for me.

This fan is attractive and has alot of functions i.e., fan speeds, dimmer, top and bottom lights. The only disappointment w/ this fan (and all fans today) is that the lights are not near as bright as the older fans.

In general, I really enjoy the fan. The design details are very nice, operation using the wall control is intuitive and responsive, and the fan as well as both lighting functions are excellent.I installed the fan myself. The instructions provided were lacking in my opinion, but adequate to get the job done. With respect to build quality, the fan housing (motor and lights) is heavy and well built. When installing the light covers (5 plastic pieces to cover the top night lights), I noticed space could have been a bit better as there were some undue stresses introduced when screwing in the thumb screws. This is not a big deal as these are just clear plastic shields that really provide no functionality for the fan. On the other hand, when it comes time to change one of these nightlights while the fan is already mounted, it will be quite difficult. This reminds me: the installation instructions have you mount the motor, and then install the night lights and shields. I performed this step prior to hanging due to the difficulty in reaching over the top for installation. Again, not a big deal, but could be an improvement.My biggest complaint came earlier in the installation process. After installing my electrical box and reinforcement above the ceiling (not part of the fan) it came time to install the mounting plate. Using two provided 3.5" wood screws, the plate was securely fastened to the ceiling. Then, using pre mounted studs on this plate, you are to install the bracket that…

this is a very pretty fan but I think it is a little noisy at medium and fast level.But it does move a ton of air.

Already had 2 Minka-Aire fans in my home so making the decision to purchase 2 more for the guest bedrooms was a no brainer. They are beautiful to look at, very quiet and very functionable. Worth the price. Great wall controls included. Dimmer on lights and multi speeds on fan. Looked at less expensive fans but they could not compare.

Other reviews said they were disappointed because the blades are plastic. I was not. What disappointed me was when I turned it on. It changed it's entire look. It looks so small and it lost that contemporary flare. Then I turned on the light and it is horrible. It is not a spot light. It lights the room and glares in your eyes. I hate it. I don't turn the light on. I don't want to turn the fan on. I am thinking of moving it to our bathroom because it is too expensive to throw out.

We recently removed a wall between the dining room and kitchen while updating the kitchen. The counter is now between the kitchen and dining room and comes around like an island. The slide in range replaced a "cooktop" with downdraft which took up too much counter space and I didn't want an overhead vent which would have defeated the purpose of removing the wall. This fan hangs in the dining room and solves my ventilation problem and provides awesome ventilation in the kitchen and circulates the air throughout the kitchen, dining room and great room. The fan rotates 360 degrees and goes either right or left which is awesome in moving the air which you can actually feel moving. I was a little reluctant of purchasing this item on line but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

The liquid nickel version of this ceiling fan is truly gorgeous and a first class product that must be seen in person to be appreciated. We were hesitant to spend so much on this fan but it is now the focal point of our Great Room. Extremely well-packaged and even included white cotton gloves for blade installation so that dirty hands, skin oil or fingerprints won't mar the beautiful blades! Top quality wall control that is supplied is also a big plus. We are very satisfied and consider this a lifetime purchase.
