Makita LCT300W 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 3-Piece Combo Kit

I purchased this tool to replace a severely aged Dewalt 18v drill/driver. I build cabinets and needed a drill that weighed less than my old Dewalt boat anchor, so I purchased the lightest serious tool I could find, this Makita. The drill:- excellent ergonomics, very light weight, excellent balance, excellent run time per charge (especially given the 1.5 amp/hour battery rating), power to spare for normal usage.- The LED light is excellent, and the fact that it stays on for a few seconds after the trigger is released is even better.- I change bits a lot while working and have had no problems whatsoever with the chuck.- My only very minor gripe is that the trigger isn't quite as smooth as my old Dewalt...it is not as easy to finesse small screws as I would like. I imagine this will improve over time, if not then wax, lithium lube or graphite will fix it.Impact driver:- I didn't purchase the kit specifically for this tool, but it was a handy addition. Same basic comments as above, except that the trigger seems less sticky.- Just to see what would happen I clamped up 8 scraps of yellow pine 2x4 and drove a 4" #12 hardened steel screw (from McFeely's) into the stack. I used a 6" long square drive bit normally used for driving pocket screws. The screw broke when the head was approximately 5" BELOW THE SURFACE. Pretty cool.Light:- the unit is significantly brighter than my 6-cell Maglight with fresh batteries, and will run seemingly forever on a charge.- As I've read in…

Makita BDF451 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit

I had the last generation Makita driver/drill and really enjoyed it, but the new ones are significantly improved. Solid driver action and long lasting battery. Charger is high quality with a built in cooling fan (the last gen charger would not recharge back-to-back without a cooling perios).Ratchet could use a slightly higher level, but overall I'm completely satisfied...

DEWALT DC4CKITA 18 Volt Compact Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit

This has got to be one of my best purchases on amazon , all the tools in the box work great ! Already did 3 projects in which the tools were worth the money I spend on them . Absolutely loved this purchase . I do wish it was easier to organize them into the box cause it is a bit annoying but once you get the hang of it you'll be able to take them out and put them back in with no problem .

Hitachi WR18DL 18-volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Wrench

Have had impact wrench for few weeks. It is very light and the battery's hold charge very well. The work light is a nice option.Works well to disassemble engine parts etc.The only possible negative is it has a tough time with wheel nuts. However it really is not rated as high a tork range as a air impact.Overall meets all my expectations.

Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi ZRP845 18V Lithium-ion 4-Piece Combo Kit

This is a great set at a great price. I have used Ryobi for 6 years now with very few problems. I use my tools a lot more than most homeowners but not as much as a contractor. If you have the cash and really use your tools daily or for a long time, I'd go with a more expensive set like Milwaukee(pretty much the best out there, but fairly expensive-3 times more)or Dewalt.Make sure you get at liest 2 batteries, the quick charger and Lithium. I've had good luck with Reconditioned tools, but you always take a chance. I have a small 9V Ryobi Li-Ion drill that complements this set perfectly for light jobs. I personally also have a full set of Ryobi corded tools for heavy work. If your going to work more than a hour, you'll need multiple batteries. I have 2 Lithium and 2 NiCads to keep me going on large projects like decks and building a shop or something but most people will be ok with 2 batteries.

DEWALT DCT410S1 12-Volt Max Inspection Camera Kit

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)As is typical, Dewalt housed this camera in a custom case with carrying handle. The unit can be stored in the case fully assembled, or in varying stages of assembly. There is a small compartment with a door for the hook and magnet attachments. The charger is stored on its side in the case. It would be nice if it stored flat in the case so you wouldn't have to remove it for charging. Some of the Rigid Tool cases are set up this way and I find it to be efficient. The initial setup was fairly basic with easy to follow instructions. There are settings for date & time and display formats for each. Charging the battery took 30 minutes. This particular unit needs the grey stripe on the camera end to be on top, relative to the handle. While the image is still not square on the screen, it is better than the inverted image I got the first time I assembled it. There is a key shaped like a hexagon that prevents the cable from spinning on the mount. This key is not aligned accurately for the image to be completely square on the screen. The screen is a nice size for viewing. The resolution is high enough for the unit's intended use. I wouldn't try to watch a movie on it, although you could (without sound) from the micro SD card that is sold separately. It has 3 zoom levels: 1.5X, 2X, and 3X. The zoom is purely digital and creates the expected artifacts as the zoom is increased. This camera is not intended as a super high-end imaging…

Makita BTD141 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit

We just finished our testing of this driver and WOW what a great driver. This is very small and lightweight. We used this driver with the 3A batteries and this lasted a long time. The balance is great, so hand fatique is little. Very easy to get the hang of for driving drywall screws all day or even decking. The light doesn't do much on the front unless you are in a dark corner. The battery stays on even at far drops. The way Makita designed the battery clip, there is a large lip that attaches to the drill to make sure the battery stay on. The trigger is not to hard to push where your fingers will hurt at the end of the day. Over all this is a great dril for the money.

DEWALT DCK655X 18-Volt XRP 6 Tool Combo Kit with Impact Driver

A friend has converted me to a Dewalt believer over the last few years. And I've always loved his 18V cordless drill. When I spotted this set on sale I couldn't pass it up!The drill is a 3 speed, 3 mode, adjustable clutch, locking keyless chuck MONSTER of a cordless drill. Three selectable speed ranges lets you maximize availble torque to suit material and application. I have mine in the middle range which suits most applications. Three modes: Screw, Drill, Hammer... The screw mode engauges the clutches to avoid stripping your heads. With 23 clutch settings I think you'll find the right one for your fasteners. Drill mode disengauges the clutches and lets you run your bits without changing your clutch setting. The final mode is Hammer Drill mode for masonry drilling. You gotta love that! I've never seen a keyless chuck that works like this. Holding the cylinder and turnin the chuck unlocks it then spinning the cylinder will tighten or loosen the jaws. Once the jaws are tight, turn the chuck again to lock. NICE! I couldn't be happier with this drill!!!Also in this set are two 18V XRP DC9096 Ni-Cad batteries and a one hour charger. The packs aren't that much larger than the 15.6V I'm used to with my previous drill but definitely offer much more power. They are heavy but not so much that you care. The one hour quick charger is mode protected to prevent over charging and even has an indicator to tell whether it's charging, complete, or even if their's a problem with the battery. One…

Kawasaki 840056 Black 19.2-Volt 4-Piece Cordless Combo Kit

***This review is based on only the drill and battery pack***Bought only the 19.2v drill from Costco some time back, thinking the Kawasaki name should be good for something, and I wanted a lightweight auxillary drill so I can minimize bit swapping. Soon after I bought it, the company (Alltrade, not Kawasaki) issued a battery recall notice. No problem, as my serial numbers were not listed. However, in actual use, the drill is very underpowered, even with 19.2 volts. It can not drive a 1/2 inch spade through a 4x4 pressure treated post. I ended up finishing the job easily with my trusty DeWalt (rated at 14.4 volts), which cuts into the material like butter (literally!).Then there's the issue of battery life. I expected way better than what I got, even though I knew it wasn't a professional-level power pack. The batteries have to be charged very frequently, even with light use.The drill is light and is comfortable to hold and use, if a bit large, and the chuck is wobble-free, making it good for precision work. But the drill is not appropriate for heavy-duty use or for those occasions when you really need the extra power or torque. Most disappointing was the fact that, even with light use, the drill failed completely within months (probably due to a faulty trigger assembly). In sum, this set of tools will likely disappoint, as most people will use the drill most often. Based on my experience with the drill and battery system, I would not recommend this set. You will be way better off…

Makita BDF452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit

I've owned 6 or 8 cordless drills, and this is the best one I've ever had. Sure there are times for a corded, and sure, devices SHOULD get better so not expecting it to be the same. I bought my first of these about 2 years ago, when my wife read a study about them. She had used one of my 18V Dewalts, a good drill, but complained of the weight. I bought this one opting for the lighter battery, (think it was a 1.5amp VS the 3 amp) figuring I could always use another drill if I needed more work time. Well, pleasantly, the batteries charge so quickly that I've never had a problem, even when using the tool constantly like drilling in deck screws. With my old dewalts, I have about 6 or more batteries so that I would always have charged ones. Not necessary for this one. I love the light weight, and the size. I'm buying another today for my daughter. Two things to note however, as I note other users complaining of dead batteries:1. Lithium Ion batteries are "smart" batteries, as many batteries are now. They cannot be discharged below a certain level, (think it is something like 60% remaining). You don't have to worry about that, basically the battery senses it's charge and shuts down when it reaches that level. Thus it is different than some batteries where the drill just gets weaker and weaker. A Li/ion tool works one minute and then not the next. You note that a screw took a bit more time to go in and then the next one won't go in at all. No big deal, you switch to the other…

POWER8 Workshop WS1 Full Workshop-in-One with Armored Case

First of all, This product rocks. it was so easy i could use it and im 12. The one guy, g. conner must have been trying to cut a huge tree with this thing becuase his description doesnt match this product at all. and the 1 star review is wrong. i may be 12 but i still can see quality and its here. the first thing i used on this was the drill and it is great. these tools may only be 18 volts but they have alot of torque in them. i believe this may be something ill use forever and someone said the box was brittle... ya,maybe if you leave it in the sun for weeks and let it get destroyed, duh. i have showed this to my entire family and all are impressed and that includes my dad who manages a factory that has every tool imaginable and i swear he was thinking about replacing about half of them with this. if you like diy, cant afford the big tools(table saw, Drill press, etc.), or dont have a space of your own to work on wood, metal, etc. then get this. if your wurried about annoying that old lady down stairs, get this its quiet. if you see this and you like tools, get this. OR JUST BUY THIS ANYWAY.

DEWALT DCK491L2 20-Volt MAX Li-Ion 3.0 Ah 4-Tool Combo Kit

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)As a homeowner, I've long been content with a very nice collection of 18V cordless tools, Ryobi One+, which I would characterize as being great for most around the house projects, but not of professional quality. These Dewalt tools are in a different league in terms of being heavy duty and well constructed. If you go to Dewalt's online user forums, one of the phrases that struck me was someone describing the drill as "maybe too much drill for me." By this the writer meant that this is a drill for someone who needs to screw wood screws, and bore holes, and change bits constantly for a full days work and go home bone tired. It is not a drill you would choose if all you were going to do was hang picture frames. The same goes for all the tools, they are not lightweight, but they are well constructed and powerful. Apparently, previous editions of Dewalt 18V tools were heavier still, but I have no experience with Dewalt prior to this set. And, of course, heavy is not a synonym for sturdy; these tools are sturdy, and that's the important part.I should point out something I learned from online research, the 20-Volt MAX is a marketing term. These are basically 18V tools, the batteries are only 20V anode to cathode while not under load. It's one of those industry terms where one company starts calling their 18V tools 20V, and everyone else follows suit so as not to be disadvantaged. I think Dewalt is pretty much up…
